English Roses

English roses are a mix between a variety of old roses and modern Hybrid Teas and Floribunda Roses. The history of the English Rose is closely linked to the name of the English breeder David CH Austin. Inspired, he was supported by a copy of a book about old roses of George Bunyard and through the rose breeder and friend of his father, James Baker.
After many attempts Austin succeeds in 1963 with the rose "Constance Spry", the first English Rose, which combines the desired qualities. The parents of "Constance Spry", are the Floribunda Rose "Dainty Maid" and the Gallica Rose "Belle Isis".
